Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data OmniPace ("we", "us") collects when you use the OmniPace mobile application and website (omnipace.markiewicz.cc), why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It also contains the AI Transparency Statement and the specific notices required for transferring your data to Garmin.
1. Who we are
OmniPace is developed and operated by JM Consulting Jarosław Markiewicz (sole trader, Poland). For any privacy question or request, contact jarek@markiewicz.cc.
2. What data we collect
Account data
- Email address (used only for authentication and essential service communications such as account recovery).
- Profile details you enter: goal (e.g. target race/distance), running experience, weekly availability, preferred training days, and similar training preferences.
Health and activity data
- Activity and workout records (distance, duration, pace, heart rate, dates, completion status) read from your Garmin Connect account via the Garmin Connect APIs or from Apple Health via HealthKit, after you explicitly connect them and consent.
- Feedback you give about completed sessions (e.g. how a session felt).
Plans and generated content
- Training plans generated for you and the history of your plan changes.
Technical data
- Authentication tokens and, if enabled, push-notification device identifiers (APNs/FCM tokens) used solely to deliver notifications about your training plan.
3. Why we use your data
- To provide the service: generating, adapting, and delivering your training plan. This is our legitimate interest and the performance of our contract with you.
- To sync your workouts from Garmin Connect or Apple Health after you connect your account and consent.
- To keep the service working and secure: monitoring, preventing abuse, and fixing errors.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, ever.
4. Transfers to third parties
Garmin (Garmin Connect)
If you connect your Garmin account: to build and deliver your plan, we transfer data to your own Garmin Connect account, specifically the structured workouts scheduled for you. Additionally, if you choose to record a workout created by OmniPace on a Garmin device, data about that workout (as described in section 2) is uploaded to Garmin Connect.
- Purpose: delivering your training plan to your devices, and reading back your completed activities to adapt the plan.
- What transfers: workout structure (type, distance/duration, pace targets, schedule date) to Garmin; activity summaries from Garmin to OmniPace.
- Garmin is an independent controller of your Garmin Connect data. How Garmin processes that data is described in Garmin's own notice: Privacy Policy for Garmin Connect and Compatible Garmin Devices.
- Your responsibility: do not upload data to your Garmin Connect account via OmniPace if you are restricted from doing so (e.g. by employer or team policies).
AI model provider (see AI Transparency Statement below)
Training-plan generation is assisted by a third-party large language model provider (OpenAI). Your training context (profile, goal, completed activities, and schedule) is sent to generate your plan.
Infrastructure providers
We use standard hosting and notification infrastructure (server hosting, Apple/Google push notification services) that process data only on our instructions to deliver the service.
5. AI Transparency Statement
We use artificial intelligence to process your data. OmniPace uses a large language model (provided by OpenAI) to help draft your training plan. This means:
- Nature and purpose: your training profile, goal, recent completed activities, and schedule constraints are sent as a prompt to the model; the model proposes your training plan. Every generated plan is then checked by our own deterministic rules before it is shown to you.
- What is NOT sent: your email address, your name, precise location, or any health data unrelated to your training plan is not included in prompts.
- Consent: by connecting your health data sources and using plan generation, you consent to this processing. You can withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting Garmin/HealthKit in the app settings or deleting your account; withdrawal does not affect plans already generated.
- We do not use your data to train the third-party model provider's general models; our requests are processed for the sole purpose of generating your plan.
6. Retention
We keep your data only while your account is active, plus up to 30 days after you request deletion (backup safety window). You can request export or deletion at any time by writing to jarek@markiewicz.cc.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, to have your data ported to you, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Poland: UODO). To exercise any right, contact jarek@markiewicz.cc. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on servers we control. API keys and secrets are stored encrypted and access to production data is restricted. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities without undue delay.
9. Children
OmniPace is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will additionally be announced in the app.
Summary: we collect your email, training profile, and workout data; we use them to build your adaptive training plan; we send training context to an AI model to draft your plan (with your consent, revocable anytime); we transfer scheduled workouts to your own Garmin Connect account if you connect Garmin; we never sell data or use it for ads; you can get a copy or delete everything via email.
